GE HealthCare, Diagnoly Team Up to Advance AI-Enabled Fetal Ultrasound

The companies aim to support clinicians in real-time with tools to help improve maternal and fetal outcomes.

GE HealthCare is partnering with Diagnoly to better leverage artificial intelligence (AI) technology in fetal ultrasound assessments. By joining forces, the two companies hope to accelerate the integration of Diagnoly’s Fetoly solution within GE HealthCare’s Voluson women’s health ultrasound systems.

Ultrasound plays a vital role throughout pregnancy, offering clinicians insights into fetal growth, development, and potential congenital conditions. But factors such as high-fetal movement, increased maternal abdominal wall thickness, and operator variability can create barriers to conducting consistent, high-quality examinations.i Integrating advanced technology—such as AI-enabled tools—into ultrasound can help clinicians streamline examinations, reduce workload, and enhance consistency and accuracy of fetal assessments, according to the companies.

Fetoly is a real-time AI solution that delivers comprehensive and standardized fetal ultrasound examinations, aligned with International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) guidelines. The solution aims to provide clinicians with AI-powered clinical diagnostic support for fetal heart and brain analysis while continuously verifying exam completeness and quality criteria in real time. This capability is expected to further enhance the Voluson portfolio, supporting clinicians in delivering optimal care.

Fetoly has earned U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance and CE mark approval. The AI application is available as a free trial on the Voluson Solution Store and other major mobile app platforms.
